The Royal Society's monumental upheavals rarely draw the attention of the only proclaimed Guardian Magister, a blessing and a curse to the Fellows. They prefer to be spared any reminder of furtive machinations that only the highest-ranked masters of the Order pursue, and an unpleasant suggestion all is not well in Caledonia. On the other hand, Brigid's undeclared agenda discomfits perennial optimists to paranoid conspiracy theorists. Her possible interests and motives generate more than their fair share of speculation among idle gossips, a damning scenario made all the worse by her alliance with the Lumen Society's senior most member, Orpheus. The appearance of either heralds interesting tidings. The two often appear in conjunction, setting off alarm bells as far away as Londinium. A drinking party of her full cabal caused a Silver Ladder deacon to lodge an official protest with Urien. So far no response was ever given; the deacon was replaced six months later, an event possibly coincidental. But, say the bon mots of the Royal Society, nothing Brigid does is coincidental. How can anything be coincidence with an instrument of Fortune, as the Daoine are?
When An Dà Shealladh received official recognition just over three years ago, Brigid ruffled more feathers by simply being sociable, so much so that the Invisible College caucus released an internal edict warning members to guard their words around her. Whether that had the desired effect of secreting knowledge away remains unseen. Among other Guardians, she is widely assumed to hold affiliation with the Prophets, a subsociety devoted to building relationships among the other Orders. It is more than likely her awareness of events happening in certain places exceeds what anyone should ever want a Guardian to know.
