Not Recommended
  • Dead Mentors or Parents: A trope that's overdone by now.
  • Combat Monsters: A character with lots of high combat stats may not be approved.
  • Early Awakenings: Most mages don't Awaken at age 18.
  • Amnesiacs: They won't be approved.
  • Lone Wolves: Misanthropes who shun other people or solitary mages rouse a lot of suspicion.
  • Killers: Assassins, hired killers, and blades for hire have little place in peaceful Edinburgh. Even Guardians and Steel Legion rarely employ these people.
  • Multi-Sphere Ties: Geist, Werewolf, Vampire and such won't feature much here. Don't base a character around them.
  • One Trick Ponies: You restrict yourself in RP if you are heavily slanted towards a single, narrow specialization.
  • The "Mortal" Mage: Your life shouldn't be invested entirely in the mortal world or else you won't have a stake in IC events.
  • The "Mortal-less" Mage: Mages with no ties to the human world have their own breed of challenges.

If your concept is in Dudes of Legend, it's probably not a good choice.
